Hi, I'm Chelsea, a hair stylist and makeup artist. Originally from Illinois, I am now living in Southern California. I have been experimenting with hair my entire life and pursuing it professionally since 2012. I am a graduate of Paul Mitchell the School San Diego.
I remember the first time I successfully french braided my sister's hair, which led to practicing corn rows, updos, strange looking foils and hair color, and guinea pig haircuts. Experimenting got me interested in pursuing hair more seriously.
Prior to jumping into the hair industry, I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Gender and Women Studies. I then had the amazing privilege to work for a Christian non-profit organization in France serving North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. It was there, that my passion for humanitarian aid began. It humbles me to work alongside women that have experienced a wide range of verbal and physical abuse like belittling, prostitution, rape, and sex trafficking. This work is on my heart forever. My experiences led me to the realization that I am wired to show care to women and men alike in non-profit work.
Beauty is so closely tied to self worth. My journey has brought me to an intersection of humanitarian aid and cosmetology. Doing someone's hair and makeup is more than a job—it involves trust, care, and ultimately a relationship. "Beautifying" someone goes deeper than outer beauty; I experience the heart of each person that sits in my chair. I hope to be inspired and impacted by each individual I encounter in my work. I am so blessed to see my passions meld together in my daily life and serve the people around me.
I currently reside in North Orange County working as a freelance artist and also as a part-time assistant at Sundara Salon.
